Java Developer with Very Strong SQL

Glasgow, UK

Hybrid (2-3 days a week)

The Role

• Our team is looking for an experienced Java developer for their multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program. This is a hands-on technical role based out of Glasgow. Joining the Global Regulatory Disclosures Team,

• You will be at the forefront of the multi-year global renovation program to transform the way the firm reports and manages its equity holdings.

• You'll join an agile team aiming to deliver software products in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

• You'll participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies. You will work closely with product owners, scrum masters, and other team members to refine requirements, participate in various phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement clarification, system implementation, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.

• You will interact with business stakeholders within Operations and other areas of the firm, including other engineering groups and support teams.

• You will serve as technical support for the Europe and Asia Operations teams responsible for regulatory reporting obligations and other monitoring, such as the Amended Transparency Directive, implemented in 40+ countries.

• Working on the DOI program provides a comprehensive view of the enterprise-wide businesses. The successful candidate should have effective communication skills for discussions with various systems involved in DOI.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proficiency in Java and related technologies

• Experience with Java frameworks like Spring, Angular, Spark

• Experience with web services, especially REST

• Familiarity with testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression testing

• Strong data analytical skills (SQL)

• Understanding of Agile principles and practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Scala
