Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Java Developer with Neo4j for a Bank client on a 6-month contract. You will work across back-end services with some front-end work, building APIs and microservices in a dynamic, agile environment.

The role requires modern Java (11+), REST API design, and experience with graph databases like Neo4j. Angular frontend experience is a plus. Collaboration and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this project.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience (modern Java 11+)
• Experience designing and building microservices architectural style applications
• Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j desirable)
• Experience modernising legacy Java applications
• Experience with design and build of REST APIs
• Experience building HTML/JavaScript front-ends (Angular desirable)
• Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills
• Experience in BDD/TDD approaches and frameworks (unit/integration test automation)
• Experience resolving issues with dependencies and upgrades
• Experience in Agile with Jira/Confluence
• Be proactive and collaborative
• Good interpersonal and English skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, testers and the wider organisation to build and run products
• Design, develop & implement back-end features with some front-end work
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features
• Proactively resolve customer issues and respond to feature requests
• Build APIs and microservices
• Work in an agile CI/CD environment delivering rapid iterations
• Participate in peer reviews and test others' code
