Job summary

Client Server Limited is seeking a Java Developer / Backend Software Engineer in London with a strong focus on Kafka messaging and cloud deployments. The role involves designing, developing and delivering projects for clients, mainly in financial services, and migrating legacy systems to AWS while introducing CI/CD pipelines.

You will join a collaborative team that emphasises engineering best practices and continuous improvement, with a hybrid working model (2 days WFH per week) in London.

Qualifications

• Java development experience including multi-threading and concurrency.
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservices environments.
• Experience with Kafka (or similar messaging tools).
• Good knowledge of REST APIs.
• Good understanding of AWS.
• Strong CS fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns).
• Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborative and client-facing problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver transformational projects for clients, primarily in financial services.
• Focus on Kafka messaging, migrating legacy systems to AWS, and CI/CD deployments.

Java Developer / Backend Software Engineer (Kafka API) London / WFH to £90k

Your role:

As a Java Developer you will design, develop and deliver a range of transformational projects for clients, mainly within the financial services sector and with a focus on Kafka messaging, migrating legacy systems to AWS and introducing CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.

You’ll join a collaborative team with a focus on engineering best practice and continuous improvement of client systems; you will have lots of business and client exposure and continual learning and development opportunities.

Location / WFH:

There’s a hybrid work from home policy with three days a week in the London, City office (or at client sites), you’ll join a friendly, diverse, upbeat team.

About you:

• You have Java development skills including multi-threading and concurrency
• You have experience with Spring Boot and microservices environments
• You have experience with Kafka (or similar messaging tools)
• You have a good knowledge of REST APIs
• You have a good understanding of AWS
• You have a thorough understanding of software development and Computer Science fundamentals such as Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Design Patterns
