Job summary

Mastek Limited, a global provider of enterprise AI, digital, and cloud services, is delivering a high-profile UK biometric capability program for a central government department. You will work on a multi-vendor codebase as a Java full-stack developer, designing and developing cloud-native applications with cutting-edge technologies.

The role requires deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, strong technical experience, and an agile mindset to rapidly learn and adapt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Extensive server-side, hands-on Java 8+ development experience with strong Spring, Spring Boot & Hibernate.
• Strong understanding of Microservice architecture
• Experience building web services and APIs on REST
• Experience and understanding of CI/CD pipeline of Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes
• Led a team of Java developers to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Design and develop Java applications, APIs, and microservices
• Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure seamless integration of software components
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
• Actively participating in architectural & design discussions
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team
• Take ownership of scrum team’s timelines and deliverables
• Proposing solutions to complex problems that are in the boundary of the existing system architecture
• Have an ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Understanding of all the agile ceremonies
• Experience with Relational Database Management System (e.g. PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge of Workflow/Business Process Management tools
• Experience with Performance and Monitoring tools: JMeter, Kibana, Splunk, Dynatrace
• Experience writing Shell scripts
• Understanding of Python
• Good understanding on AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, API Gateway and Serverless technologies)
• Integration Engine tools: Apache Camel and ActiveMQ for messaging, web services and distributed systems
• Public Sector domain experience preferable
