Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Academy in Leek is seeking a part-time Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The role is term-time, 10 hours per week (2 hours daily), with pattern agreed with the Principal and some flexibility in hours.

You will carry out daily cleaning, report health and safety issues, assist with events, and help with small repairs to keep the school secure and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out daily cleaning duties in classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, and communal areas

• Opening and locking up the school premises
• Monitoring stock levels of cleaning materials and reporting when supplies are low
• Reporting health and safety issues, hazards or necessary repairs
• Assisting with setting up for school events, furniture moves or deliveries

About the Role:

As our Janitor, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will help ensure the smooth daily running of the school and contribute to the warm, caring atmosphere that makes our community special. This is a term-time position, working 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, 1 hour in the morning, 1 in the afternoon), working pattern as agreed with the Principal. with flexibility in working hours required.

Main Responsibilities:
