Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting an Engineering Support Operative in the Nottingham area to maintain automated equipment and keep product flow running smoothly.

You will respond to faults, perform basic maintenance and repairs, escalate complex issues, and work closely with the engineering team. Health and safety are a priority.

The role is permanent with a total annual salary of £36,208 including shift allowance, plus benefits such as 25 days leave and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, maintenance, automated or similar environment.
• Ideally 2 years' experience in a similar industry/environment.
• Experience with basic equipment maintenance.
• Understanding of automated equipment and maintaining system/product flow.
• Good understanding of workplace Health & Safety.
• Competence working at height.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive problem solving.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn.
• Competence with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance checks on automated equipment.
• Acting as the first point of contact when faults or errors occur.
• Identifying system faults, blockages and performance issues.
• Carrying out basic reactive and preventative repairs.
• Supporting continuous product flow and minimising downtime.
• Rectifying product and process-related issues.
• Supporting equipment hygiene and housekeeping requirements.
• Identifying and communicating continuous improvement opportunities.
• Following all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure faults are communicated and resolved efficiently.

The Role
