The OpportunityThe role of the Data Governance & Insights Manager is a key role in the Integrated Workplace Management Service (IWMS) Team within Information Systems and reports into the Head of Integrated Workplace Management Service. The IWMS Team is responsible for the effective running of, and embedding of best practice for Parliament's IWMS which is a product called Planon.
This role is responsible for delivering data governance structure for Parliament's digital assets in Planon, as well as ensuring that outputs (reports, insights, dashboard, MS Fabric feeds) meet the needs of stakeholders. They lead the data analytic team, ensuring that they work in an efficient way, delivering high quality work, on time, and to brief. They will be responsible for delivering assured and qualified dashboards and information, that can be relied upon for consistent reporting by stakeholders.
They will work closely with the Product & Service Manager and the Solutions Architect to provide stakeholders assurance of data quality, governance and relevance.
- to develop a strategic approach for the IWMS data, through the development and implementation of a data governance framework that engages key stakeholders creating a collaborative approach to shared data sets.
- to work directly with senior stakeholders across the Built Environment operational areas to develop key data standards and present trusted interactive data models, dashboards and reports that can respond to strategic questions and be relied upon to support decision making.
- responsible for the ownership and delivery of a trusted, high-quality suite of management information dashboards, reports and data insights for use by stakeholders to support decision making, trend and performance monitoring. Leading continuous improvement of both the data quality and information outputs.
- to embed digital management processes to the team can support stakeholders to protect, manage and assure critical digital assets, in particular space, property and asset data. This could include embedding data housekeeping tasks, running data health check reports and ensuring data standards are complied with.
- to lead the IWMS Data & Analytics team, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well. Coaches team members in applying the most appropriate IT delivery tools and techniques, facilitating continuous improvement.
What You Need- experience of working with data governance frameworks, and the application of IT security principles, data protection, where you have been accountable for the quality and assurance of the data.
- demonstrable experience of owning, embedding and influencing work with data analytics, reporting, dashboards and management information that support decision making, performance monitoring. This would include leading work with stakeholders to define requirements, and negotiate to overcome conflicting priorities.
- good working knowledge of the Built Environment sector, or supporting applications such as IWMS/CAFM/BMS that has enabled you to understand practical operation requirements and have a good awareness of the types of critical data involved.
- proven experience of leading and motivating a technical team to deliver objectives in a changing environment, meeting deadlines, giving feedback, setting objectives and managing fluctuations in workloads while upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
- strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish positive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, effectively communicating between technical and non-technical staff.
- a good track record of implementing new processes, or managing change within established environments, where you have been involved in the design and application as well as the embedding of change.
- the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK
About The TeamThe goal of the IWMS Team is to continue the ongoing development and maintenance of Planon. To ensure its capability remains current and meets business needs. The team will support multiple areas, including Strategic Estates, Service Delivery & Customer Experience as well as the Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team in their day to day running of operations across the Parliamentary Estate. Key activities supported include Asset Management, Space Management, Moves Management, Planned & Reactive Maintenance, Property & Lease Management, Accident & Incident reporting, as well as Environment & Sustainability Management.
