These posts are for six months to one year, with potential extension depending on the needs of the applicant and the department. The applicant must be airway trained with RCOA IAC documentation or equivalent.

There will be a regular opportunity for delivery of teaching. For overseas candidates there is an option for an extended contract for visa purposes.

Applications are invited for Intensive Care Registrars at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. These posts are for six months to one year, with potential extension depending on the needs of the applicant and the department.

The applicant must be airway trained with RCOA IAC documentation or equivalent. There will be a regular opportunity for delivery of teaching.

For any suitable overseas candidates there is an option for an extended contract for Visa purposes.

The post holder will be responsible for the daily review and management of critically ill adult patients in the critical care department. The candidate will be based on the Intensive Care Unit, but will also be responsible for reviewing and managing critically ill patients throughout the hospital, primarily on the wards and in the emergency department.

Under the supervision of the Intensive Care Consultants, you will assist in the assessment, admission, day-to-day management, investigation, practical procedures and final discharge of patients. The ITU registrars will be expected to work at the level of a Specialty Registrar, with increased responsibility for assessment and management of unwell patients in the ITU and hospital, and for the supervision of more junior trainees. They will be supported in this by the consultant body.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
