Job Description:

Are you an experienced ITU/HDU Nurse looking for new challenges and rewarding opportunities? Look no further! We have HDU/ITU shifts in the Nuneaton area, with rates of pay from £17.50 to £31.66 per hour.

As an ITU/HDU nurse, you play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) or High Dependency Unit (HDU). Your expertise in critical care, monitoring, and patient advocacy is invaluable in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

ITU/HDU Nurses responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and monitoring patients' progress and identifying any sudden or subtle changes in their medical condition.
  • Administering medications intravenously by injection or via gastric tubes.
  • Providing regular updates on patients' progress to doctors, patients, and their families.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and skills in patient education and involving significant others.
  • Reviewing the effectiveness of nursing care provided and initiating necessary actions.
  • Investigating and reporting accidents, incidents, and losses, and providing initial support for staff or patients involved, in line with Trust policy.
  • Taking on extra duties/responsibilities as delegated and agreed by the department/ward manager or senior staff nurse, within their capability and limitations.

Requirements for ITU/HDU Nurses working for Pulse:

  • NMC Registration for at least 6 months
  • At least 6 months recent experience in ITU/HDU within the last 12 months, with the ability to provide 2 clinical references covering the last 3 years of work
  • Compliance with framework requirements, including DBS, Occupational Health, and an updated CV
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
