Job description

As an Italian Structured Products EME Advisory Lawyer, you will provide legal advice and support to the business units in the Markets division on matters arising from the relevant products/services provided by the Structured Notes Team. You will have regular exposure to securities regulators, external law firms, business managers, and colleagues in other teams (Treasury, Wealth, etc.).

To be successful, you should have experience with:

  • Fluent in Italian, written and verbal
  • Subject Matter Expert / Extensive experience with Structured Finance Products, focusing on the Markets Division
  • Italian Qualified Lawyer
  • Experience working in Italy with an understanding of the Italian legal structure

Highly valued skills include:

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Strong commercial attitude and passion for performance improvement
  • Ability to communicate technical legal advice clearly to both legal and non-legal audiences, orally and in writing

This role is based in London.

Purpose of the role

Ensure compliance of the Markets division activities with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and help manage legal risks.

Accountabilities
  1. Develop and implement legal strategies to ensure compliance
  2. Provide legal advice to the business units on relevant products/services
  3. Support legal proceedings related to the Markets business units
  4. Create and review legal documents, maintaining templates for the division
  5. Conduct legal research on changes in laws and regulations
  6. Develop and deliver legal and regulatory training programs
  7. Identify and communicate legal risks, ensuring they are reflected in policies and controls
