Job description

Tokio Marine Kiln is searching for an IT Vice President – Integrated Data Products.

This role will be employed by Tokio Marine Kiln but will support and report into another Tokio Marine Group subsidiary based in the US, Tokio Marine North America Services (TMNAS).

We are looking for a dynamic leader to run its newly created Integrated Data Products function. The role will report to the Chief Technology Officer and will oversee the Data Engineering, Data Governance & Data Science functions. This role is pivotal to the organization and will focus on creating an advanced business data platform to support our Group Companies in creating modern data products and services, while also supporting them in implementing emerging technologies at scale.

This role will be remote, based in the UK, with occasional travel to the US and London office.

The responsibilities include:

  • Corroborate and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.
  • Oversee data governance initiatives to ensure compliance with industry regulations and data security standards, in conjunction with TMNAS America-supported Group Companies.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify opportunities for data monetization, advanced insights, and enhanced decision-making.
  • Lead the Data Engineering and Data Science functions to successful outcomes.
  • Lead the integration of disparate data systems into the Modern Data Platform, ensuring seamless interoperability.
  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies and tools to support analytics, AI/ML capabilities, and data visualization.
  • Work with IT and operations teams to optimize data pipelines, storage, and processing frameworks for real-time and predictive insights.
  • Drive the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics to improve underwriting, claims processing, risk management, and customer retention.
  • Partner with actuarial, marketing, claims, and product teams to leverage data for innovative insurance offerings and pricing strategies.
  • Monitor KPIs to assess the impact of data initiatives on business performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the data organization.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  • Act as a key liaison between data teams and business units to ensure alignment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, & Fabric. Knowledge of data integration, data as a service, business process management, and the application of data in creating advanced data products is required. The candidate will manage a high-profile, motivated team in a hybrid setting and must be able to articulate complex technological concepts in business terms, building strong relationships with business leaders, systems integrators, and partners.
