Job description

Role Purpose

PIC is seeking an IT Transition Support Specialist to ensure that new or modified IT services are smoothly and efficiently moved from a non-production environment into production. You will work closely with the Strategic Transformation Office, Enterprise Architecture, and the Citizen Development community across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Service Transition: Ensure that new IT Services are smoothly transitioned into Production, with support processes, procedures, and ownership clearly understood and accepted.
  2. Change Enablement: Ensure that IT Changes are thoroughly assessed, especially to identify and mitigate technical and business risks.
  3. Demand Management: Manage the Demand Management process for IT services, guiding requests from initial contact to implementation, acting as a liaison between requestors and IT teams.
  4. Configuration Management: Ensure all IT assets and services are accurately recorded, inter-dependencies mapped, and records kept up to date. Configuration Management provides reliable data to support other processes.
Requirements
Technical
  • Experience in Service Transition and/or Change Enablement.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data networks, laptops/desktops (hardware and OS), servers (hardware and OS), VMs, storage devices, Oracle SQL servers and databases, Active Directory, Azure.
  • Understanding of the software development and release lifecycle.
  • ITIL Foundation (v4) certification.
Personal
  • Ability to enforce governance of Service Transition & Change Enablement policies confidently.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail in documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to explain technical details in plain English.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A proactive problem-solving attitude.
