Hours: Full-time, 36.25 hours per week (Monday–Friday 9am – 5pm);

Salary: up to £28,000 per annum DOA;

Travel: Some travel required across offices;

The Role

Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking an IT Training Specialist – Legal Technology and Onboarding to join our IT team at our Walton Summit Office in Preston. This role is full time working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role is fully office based and travel between our offices will be required.

You will be Supporting Legal Professionals in a Digital World.

As an IT Training Specialist, you will design and deliver engaging, interactive training programmes for our legal teams, helping them to maximise their use of technology and case management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Induction & Onboarding: Deliver IT training for new hires, ensuring they can confidently use our systems from day one.
  2. Legal IT Training: Provide in-depth training on legal case management systems, Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power Automate), and other business applications.
  3. Content Creation: Develop user guides, video tutorials, and e-learning modules to support self-paced learning.
  4. Skills Mapping & Development: Work with IT, HR, and legal teams to identify training needs and create tailored learning plans.
  5. User Support & Troubleshooting: Act as a friendly, expert resource, helping staff resolve IT queries and improve their digital skills.
  6. Championing Digital Adoption: Support the rollout of new legal tech solutions and process improvements across the firm.
The Person

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:

Experience & Knowledge

  1. Proven IT training experience, ideally in professional services or legal environments.
  2. Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power Automate).
  3. Experience delivering training workshops, one-on-one coaching, or virtual training sessions.
  4. Ability to develop engaging training materials, such as user guides, videos, or interactive learning content.
️ Technical Skills

  1. Microsoft Office 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power Automate).
  2. Legal software (case/document management systems like Parter for Windows or similar) – desirable but not essential.
  3. E-learning development tools (Moodle, Camtasia, AI-based training platforms) – desirable but not essential.
Soft Skills

  1. Confident presentation and communication skills – ability to simplify complex IT concepts.
  2. Problem-solving mindset – proactive in identifying and addressing skills gaps.
  3. Excellent organisation and time management – able to manage multiple training projects.
  4. Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
  5. Aligns with the Firm's values.
The successful candidate will require a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel will be required throughout the North West region. (*if you have a disability that prevents you from driving please specify so we can assess what reasonable adjustments can be made). Expenses for travel to other offices will be reimbursed.
