Job description

Our client, a leading professional services organisation based in the heart of Belfast, is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Training Specialist to join their internal support function on a permanent part-time basis (21 hours per week). This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to staff development and the strategic adoption of IT tools across the firm.

The Opportunity

This position plays a central role in building IT capability across the business. You'll work closely with departments to assess training needs, create targeted learning materials, and deliver tailored sessions that empower colleagues to use technology with confidence and efficiency. From onboarding new employees to supporting wider digital adoption, your work will have a direct impact on operational excellence.

You'll also contribute to key IT projects, offering input into the testing and rollout of new platforms while acting as a trusted resource for IT-related training queries. The role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical know-how with outstanding communication skills and a passion for helping others.

What You'll Do

  • Analyse staff IT skillsets and identify training gaps across departments
  • Design, build and deliver comprehensive IT training programmes covering core systems such as Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and sector-specific platforms
  • Deliver structured training sessions using varied formats including one-to-one, classroom, virtual, and self-paced learning
  • Support the onboarding process with tailored IT inductions for new starters
  • Act as a key point of contact for advanced IT training queries and escalations
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and use feedback to refine delivery
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to support wider business and digital transformation initiatives
  • Maintain clear, concise training documentation and provide regular reports to the management team

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator who can translate complex technical subjects into digestible, engaging learning experiences. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-impact IT training, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Background in IT training, ideally within a corporate or regulated sector
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and confidence using virtual desktop environments
  • Experience in building and delivering engaging training content using a variety of formats
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of seniority
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage your own schedule and respond to evolving business needs
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with technical teams and support departments
  • Experience with legal or specialist software tools (e.g., CRM, document management, secure email) is an advantage

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Schedule: 21 hours per week (e.g. 3 days (Ideally Monday included) x 7 hours, flexible working available)
  • Location: Based in central Belfast with occasional travel to the Dublin office
  • Reporting to: IT Director
