The Role

Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking an IT Trainer to join our IT Team at our Walton Summit Office in Preston. This role is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Forbes Solicitors is investing in technology to support its legal teams and is looking for an enthusiastic Training Specialist to join its IT Training Team. In this role, you will design and deliver engaging training to help legal professionals make the most of tools like Microsoft 365, legal applications, and workflow automation. Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering IT induction training to new starters;
  • Provide training on legal case management systems, Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power Automate), and other business applications;
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining training user guides, video tutorials, and e-learning modules to support self-paced learning;
  • Developing and maintaining the Firm’s learning areas and LMS;
  • Collating feedback in order to constantly improve our training service and maintain training materials;
  • Participating in new and ongoing IT projects to help ensure that the Firm makes best use of its investment in IT;
  • Overseeing and managing the IT Training Team mailbox while promptly addressing incoming queries;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify training and create tailored training plans;
  • Providing guidance and helping staff resolve IT training queries to improve their digital skills.

The Person

Essential

We are open to hearing from candidates who may not have worked as an IT Trainer before and we will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:

  • Demonstrates experience of delivering training workshops, one-on-one coaching, or virtual training sessions;
  • Demonstrates knowledge of different learning methods (i.e. classroom based, e-learning, microlearning, scenario based learning and blended learning);
  • Demonstrates competence in their IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other systems experience);
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop engaging training materials, such as user guides, videos, or interactive learning content;
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills for interacting with colleagues in an engaging manner;
  • Demonstrates good attention to detail, including proof-reading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and quality of training materials;
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously;
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team;
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn new subjects and deliver training sessions from this;
  • Aligns with the Firm's values.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with different Legal systems and training software (case/document management systems like Partner for Windows or E-learning development tools, such as Moodle);
  • Previous experience of training on IT systems.

The successful candidate will require a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel will be required throughout the North West region (*if you have a disability that prevents you from driving please specify so we can assess what reasonable adjustments can be made). Expenses for travel to other offices will be reimbursed.
