Position Description
Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district and assigned campus. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware. Employee must have strong overall IT technical skills, while also having excellent customer service/interaction skills and superior organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment. They should be a self-starter and have excellent motivation, leadership, and ingenuity to excel at this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tier support to IOC Company employees
Manage on-site inventory and the total lifecycle of IT assets
Procure, configure, and deploy computer hardware and mobile cellular devices
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, in person and remotely
Configure and troubleshoot desktop, label, and large multifunction printers
Network support and troubleshooting from device connectivity to network equipment
Maintain and update the IT ticketing system, ensuring accurate tracking and timely resolution of support requests
Develop new workflows and solutions, working directly with IT leadership and other internal/external resources to resolve complex issues
Write instructional documentation and convey highly technical ideas in terms that non-technical people can understand
Perform any other projects or tasks assigned
Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
Do regular data backups to protect the organization’s information
Provide technical directions to co-workers on the computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
Diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage tasks/projects
Knowledge of managing and monitoring local and wide area networks
Knowledge of troubleshooting computer systems
Knowledge of work order tracking computer systems
Knowledge of network diagnostic tools and use in scope of daily activity
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Associate degree or a combination of education and relevant experience
2.2+ years of customer service experience
3.2+ years of experience as an IT Technician or similar role
Must have a Valid Texas Driver License
Must be willing to move/travel to projects – Travel up to 45%
Must have the ability to read, write and understand safety regulations applicable to our industry codes and standards
Must be able to meet the physical demand of the job
Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by operation
Able to successfully complete all required pre-hire tests and verifications, which may include pre-employment drug testing, reference & criminal background checks and MVR review and physical evaluation
Experience building, deploying, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, printers, software, and IP networks within an enterprise environment
Experience supporting Microsoft technologies. Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and experience in supporting Microsoft Technology
Comfortable working with mission-critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities
Able to work independently while maintaining patience with constant interruptions
Due to the high visibility of this position, excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills
The employee assumes responsibility and is presumed to know the routine work details and performance standards of the job and to perform assigned tasks with direct supervision. Employee may be subject to long hours, weekend and holiday work. Work requires the direction and guidance of lead man, foreman, supervisor and helpers.
