Job summary

A prominent technology provider is seeking an experienced IT Technician specializing in Controls and Networking in Kingston upon Hull. The role involves providing IT support in a production environment, with a focus on Networking and Cyber Security. This is an onsite contract position, initially for 3 months, paying £250 - £300 per day, outside of IR35.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar IT Engineer, IT Technician role.
  • Strong understanding of Technical IT Support including Active Directory.
  • Good knowledge of Cyber Security and Networking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support in a production or chemical engineering environment.
  • Manage Networking tasks including Firewalls and Servers.
  • Assist with BAU duties and group policy management.

Job description

IT Technician – Controls & networks

Synchro have partnered with a large and well-known organisation and we are hiring for an experienced IT Engineer / IT Technician with strong experience across Networking and Controls.

Industry wise, you will have previously worked in a production or plant setting working within hazardous and / or chemical environment.

You will have a thorough understanding of Networking, covering Firewalls, Switches, Physical and Virtual Servers and more. You will be comfortable working across Fortinet and Cisco, and any qualifications in this space will only strengthen your application. You will also have a strong working knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy and Cyber Security as well as general IT support and BAU duties.

Any experience of working with Hyper V would be advantageous.

This organisation is based in Kingston Upon Hull, and due to the nature of this role and the working environment, this role will be based onsite.

This role is likely to be a contract position, however this may become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Required skills & experience

  • Experience in a similar IT Engineer, IT Technician role, working within production or plant environment working with hazardous and / or chemical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of Technical IT Support, including Active Directory, Group Policy as well as good knowledge of Cyber Security.
  • A strong skillset in Networking, including Firewalls, Switches, Physical and Virtual Servers.
