Job description

We're looking for an enthusiastic IT Technician to join our forward-thinking team and support our school's digital infrastructure. In this hands-on role, you will provide 1st line and overlay IT support to teachers, students, support staff, and visitors, ensuring effective use of technology daily.

You will work closely with the Network Manager to maintain ICT systems, support infrastructure projects, and contribute to teaching and learning through reliable tech support.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in an educational setting and develop experience across various technologies and services.

Your Responsibilities as an IT Technician
  • Provide daily support for the school’s ICT resources to meet staff and student needs.
  • Assist the Network Manager with projects and infrastructure issues.
  • Support core infrastructure, services, and data within SLA parameters, including fault diagnosis, resolution, and escalation.
  • Deploy end-user hardware such as desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and AV equipment, and manage associated software.
  • Support school events and activities, ensuring IT and AV are available when needed.
About You
  • Logical problem-solving skills, excellent communication, stakeholder management, and accuracy in administration tasks.
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure, especially end-user devices in an educational environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Microsoft Windows, VMware, desktop applications, and related hardware.
  • Experience in a structured IT support/helpdesk environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including SLT, teachers, support staff, and students.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple work streams.
