Job description

Job title: I.T. Technician

Department: Information Technology

Reports to: I.T. Senior Engineer

Position summary:
I.T. Technician works in all areas of I.T. to support business and staff.

Main job functions:

  1. To provide all aspects of I.T. Support to staff within the ETL Epson Telford Limited business.
  2. To use, maintain, and support the ongoing development of the IT Heat Helpdesk.
  3. To provide operational I.T. Support within the I.T. department.
  4. To adhere to Epson's Environment and Quality policies, and ISO 14001 and 9001 management systems.
  5. To ensure responsible waste management through waste segregation.
  6. To stay informed about environmental impacts in your role, working to prevent, minimize, and report potential pollution incidents, contributing to our commitment to sustainability.

Note: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Job location: Telford, Shropshire

Responsible for: Support/guidance of I.T. Apprentice as and when requested.

Duties/responsibilities:
  1. IT Technician provides first line support to the ETL business.
  2. Logs all incidents and service requests on the “Heat” helpdesk.
  3. Works on IT Projects.
  4. Escalates tasks to third line and to Amsterdam support team.
  5. Supports the IT Senior Engineer.
  6. Performs a number of general I.T. housekeeping tasks.
  7. Documentation.
  8. 5S activities.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  1. GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent.
  2. IT NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
Experience required:
Essential:
  1. 1 year’s experience in IT.
  2. General I.T. experience.
  3. Helpdesk use and call logging.
Desirable:
  1. Use of Heat helpdesk.
