IT Technician (Temporary) - Secondary School in Preston
Start Date: 1st September 2025
End Date: 19th December 2025
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Contract Type: Temporary (Term-time only)
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Are you an enthusiastic and skilled IT Technician looking for a rewarding opportunity in education? We are seeking a proactive and reliable IT Technician to support our secondary school in Preston during the autumn term.

  • Provide first-line technical support to staff and students across the school.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems.

  • Support the upkeep of the school's IT infrastructure, including PCs, printers, interactive whiteboards, and other devices.

  • Assist with setting up and maintaining classroom technology.

  • Monitor and respond to helpdesk requests in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Liaise with external IT support providers when necessary.

  • Experience in an IT support role, preferably within an educational environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.

  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive, flexible attitude and a commitment to safeguarding.

Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.
