Pro Resources is seeking an IT Technician for a client in Plymouth, IN. The IT technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and functionality of information technology systems. Their expertise spans hardware, software, networking, and user support, making them indispensable in today's technology-driven environments.

Job Description

The IT Technician will be responsible for:

  • Hardware Management and Troubleshooting
    • Installing and configuring computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other hardware components.
    • Diagnosing issues with hardware and replacing faulty components.
    • Ensuring that servers and workstations are functioning optimally.
    • Managing inventory of IT equipment and overseeing hardware upgrades.
  • Software Installation and Support
    • Installing and updating operating systems and applications.
    • Providing support for software issues, from compatibility problems to application errors.
    • Ensuring the security and integrity of installed software.
    • Training users on new software and recommending best practices.
  • Technical Support
    • Resolving user-related technical issues, either on-site or remotely.
    • Managing and responding to help desk tickets and troubleshooting problems promptly.
    • Educating users about technology tools and policies.
    • Offering recommendations for improving IT system efficiency.
  • System Administration
    • Managing user accounts and passwords.
    • Performing regular backups and ensuring data recovery processes are in place.
    • Updating systems to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
    • Documenting technical procedures and system configurations.
    • Audit management
  • Cybersecurity
    • Implementing anti-virus and anti-malware solutions.
    • Monitoring systems for suspicious activity and responding to security incidents.
    • Ensuring compliance with organizational security policies.
    • Educating users about safe computing practices.
    • Incident Response: Investigating and responding to security breaches or malware attacks.
  • Project Management
    • Managing or participating in projects to support business initiatives at a local and global level where required.
    • Collaborating with customers and other colleagues from the IT organization to design solutions.
    • Managing project work with 3rd party consultants.
  • Documentation
    • Maintaining detailed documentation to ensure that processes, procedures, and resolutions are thoroughly recorded.
    • Creating user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and documenting system changes to facilitate knowledge sharing and consistency.
    • Asset Management and maintaining updated and correct asset information.
Background Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Proficiency in operating system management, hardware troubleshooting, and networking.
  • Experience with installing and supporting the Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Experience with IT ticket systems to manage incidents.
  • Flexibility to work with diverse applications and respond to changing business needs.
  • Project Work or Management Experience
