IT Technician

The Maintenance Service Centre is a fast-paced environment with various customer builds that we support throughout the device life cycle to help our customers change the world.

What you’ll do
  • Filtering, visually inspecting, testing and cleaning various device types of IT equipment including: laptops, desktops, screens, handheld and mobile devices, etc.
  • Carrying out configuration software builds and repairs on various customer devices. Work includes software builds, software updates, repairs, diagnostic fault finding and preparing kit to be shipped to various customers.
  • The right candidate will have experience in configuration software builds, problem solving and fault finding, laptop and desktop repairs, be familiar with software and hardware components of tablets, desktops and laptops.
  • Logging issues and closing calls on the company computing system.
  • Liaising with internal teams whilst building relationships.
  • You will escalate any issues to the supervisor that may affect delivery to our customers.
  • You will be extremely well organised in your approach to asset tracking and traceability of those assets.
  • You will be an excellent communicator and deliver against the core values of Field and Lifecycle Services.
  • You will embrace change and be an advocate of our values.
  • Working hours are 10am – 6pm, location Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
What you’ll need
  • Excellent administration and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Previous knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Has held or able to attain up to date accreditations with all major manufacturers including HP, Dell, Apple, Lenovo etc.
  • Previous experience of supporting mobile devices and hand-held devices.
  • Good administrative experience, attention to detail, ensures accuracy of data, provides data for reporting and processing of information.
  • Previous experience working in a corporate IT environment is an asset.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Willing to take initiative and be hands-on.
  • Experience in building effective relationships and team working.
  • A confident, professional, positive, and proactive approach.
  • Forward thinking and offer efficient ways of working.
  • Able to coach and mentor team members and new starters into the business.
  • Previous experience of Enterprise maintenance.
  • Able to adapt, grow and self-educate at pace to meet the ever-demanding needs of the service.
  • Either hold SC clearance or able to gain government SC clearance.
