Job summary

Luminate Education Group is seeking an IT Technician for Harrogate College Campus to install, configure and repair IT/AV hardware and software across desktops, mobiles and classroom tech. You will deliver customer-focused support and diagnostics, maintaining high standards and liaising with suppliers for timely repairs.

The role requires experience with Windows, macOS/iOS, ChromeOS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and assistive tech tools like TextHelp Read & Write and Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Qualifications

• Level 3 English and Maths plus an IT-related qualification or proven IT support experience.
• Experience delivering customer-focused IT/AV support with high satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS/iOS, ChromeOS and supporting software.
• Experience installing and supporting multimedia/ assistive tech tools such as TextHelp Read & Write and Dragon.
• Experience with PCs, laptops, mobiles, VoIP phones, and printers.

Responsibilities

About The Role

Luminate Education Group is looking for an IT Technician based at our Harrogate College Campus. The ITSS (Information Technology Shared Services) department at the Group provides centralised IT support and technology services across the group’s colleges and education providers.

Harrogate College is located at Hornbeam Park with good transport links, including nearby train services, regular bus routes, and easy road access via the A61 and A1(M).

What You Will Do

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and repair IT/AV hardware, operating systems, and software for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, telephony, and classroom technologies.
• Provide customer-focused technical support in line with departmental service standards.
• Deliver diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair services for IT hardware and multimedia/assistive technologies.
• Support and maintain classroom technologies including projectors, TVs, interactive whiteboards, audio systems, and assistive equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance to ensure all IT and AV equipment operates to a high standard.
• Liaise with third-party suppliers to ensure timely hardware repairs and service delivery.

About You

• Level 3 qualifications in English and Maths, with an IT related qualification or proven experience in an IT Service Support role.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer-focused IT/AV support services with high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge and technical support experience across operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS/iOS, Google ChromeOS and supporting software applications including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, antivirus software, internet browsers, streaming platforms, and cloud services.
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting multimedia and assistive technology applications such as TextHelp Read & Write and Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
• Skilled in installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT hardware including PCs, laptops, mobile devices, VoIP telephones, mobile phones, and printers.
