Main duties of the jobAs an IT Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the DHC digital infrastructure that underpins patient care.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include installing and configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting network and connectivity issues, supporting clinical systems, managing user accounts, and ensuring IT equipment runs smoothly across all our departments.
To succeed, you'll need strong technical knowledge of Windows environments, networks, and IT security, along with excellent problem-solving skills.
You should be organised, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with both technical teams and frontline healthcare staff. A proactive approach and the ability to prioritise under pressure are essential.

JOB SUMMARY
To deliver an exceptional service for DHC working to support staff, contractors and management. Working closely with the IT Manager but also using own initiative and being proactive, managing, prioritising, planning and organising own time, using and developing extensive knowledge, skills and experience.
This role will proactively provide IT desktop and telephony support throughout the organisation and ensure the Information Technology is maintained to a high standard and monitored. We work across multiple sites within Surrey and travel to these locations will be required to provide IT support and set up.
Ensure the IT infrastructure remains functional, secure and up to date including servers and networking. Ensure telephony solutions meet the needs of all parts of the DHC team.
Administer systems to ensure staff are set up correctly to use required IT and telephony equipment and related software solutions appropriate to their roles. This will include ensuring appropriate steps are taken for staff joining and leaving as well as changing roles within DHC.

The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, clients, staff and DHC business in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and Caldicott principles.
WORK SETTING AND REVIEW
The IT Technician will work under the guidance and leadership of the IT Manager. Once familiar with the companys IT systems, policies and procedures, s/he will be expected to pro-actively manage their day-to-day tasks, prioritising them accordingly with the minimum supervision required.
Annual appraisals take place within DHC during which yearly objectives are set. These are monitored regularly to ensure they are successfully achieved.
All staff at DHC are encouraged to develop their skills to keep them up to date and to learn new systems and procedures.
