What is the overall job?

The Technical Support Engineer supports all users by investigating and resolving End User Computing hardware, application, and software issues from level 1 to level 3.

The role reports to the IT Technical Support Manager and involves delivering IT support related to end user compute, including processes, procedures, and technologies within Multiplex IT. It is customer-facing, with most work hours spent visiting and supporting construction sites within the region. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting project delivery and site setups.
  • Collaborating globally with functional and cross-functional teams.
  • Performing server maintenance, administration, and basic networking tasks.
  • Troubleshooting user account issues such as passwords and access.
  • Managing service calls and documenting work in the global service management system.
  • Ensuring timely resolution of service tickets to meet SLAs.
  • Diagnosing incidents and problems through user discussions and participating in problem-solving groups.
  • Documenting and resolving incidents within ServiceNOW and in accordance with SLAs.
  • Recommending system modifications and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience within an IT organization, preferably in a Technical/End User Computing Support role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Expertise in Windows and Apple operating systems (Windows 10/11; macOS).
  • Knowledge of desktop, laptop, mobile devices, and vendor products/services; troubleshooting network connectivity and configuring networked printers.
  • Proficiency in standard business software such as Microsoft Office.
  • IT experience including Active Directory, Azure, Intune, Mobile Device Management, Networking (Cisco Meraki), and Windows Server configuration.
