Job description
Overview

An Independent School in Gateshead requires an IT Teacher. This is an independent boys school with a strong and supportive management team. The school is very happy to talk to IT Teachers with QTS and graduates who have Computer Science and IT related degrees but have no teaching experience too or limited experience and wish to embark on a career as an Instructor. This is a full time and long term role which may become permanent and it is 4 days per week.


What to Expect from the Role

As a Graduate on our Graduates into Teaching Pathway, you\'ll provide support to pupils in groups and on a 1:1 basis across partner secondary schools, SEN schools, and primary schools. You\'ll receive mentorship and coaching from our experienced team to develop your skills as you train, with placements tailored to schools near you.


For graduates without QTS

  • Paid Experience: Enjoy up to one year of paid experience as an Instructor. This allows you to observe great teaching and discover the intricacies of the teaching profession while earning.

  • Ongoing Support: Benefit from free training and continuous support from our experienced team, including the opportunity to attain an accredited level 2 qualification.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree in ICT or Computer Science for this role and ideally hold QTS

  • Hold/predicted a degree with a 2.2 or above.

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or C).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic work environment.

  • Organised and efficient approach to tasks.

  • Passion for working with young people, particularly in a secondary school setting.

  • Provide two referees we can contact.

  • Have a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one.
