IT Systems Support Engineer

Job Title: IT Systems Support Engineer

Our client, a bank based in Central London, is seeking to recruit an IT Systems Support Engineer. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in IT within the financial industry and a total of 5 years in IT.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain the bank's IT infrastructure by providing first-line support for software, hardware, and networking, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
2. Manage daily operational aspects of projects and scope.
3. Design, plan, and deploy IT projects to enhance existing infrastructure and applications.
4. Provide end-user computing support for all staff.
5. Coordinate between London users and Group IT Security for system access requests, ensuring compliance with protocols.
6. Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures to preserve assets and meet group standards.
7. Support daily and periodic reporting for the London Compliance team to ensure AML compliance.
8. Extract data for reporting to stakeholders.
9. Monitor CCTV, telephony, and door access systems, ensuring maintenance and backups.
10. Monitor networking equipment such as switches, firewalls, and appliances.
11. Perform maintenance checks to ensure smooth IT operations.
12. Maintain the BCP site for continuous operations.
13. Maintain the branch PABX system and recording systems.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Windows 10, Windows Server 2016+, and Redhat Linux OS.
• Experience with VMWare v6.7+, Veeam Backup, Symantec Endpoint Protection, ManageEngine Patch Manager, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Networking knowledge including Cisco switches, routers, Fortigate firewalls, LAN/WAN routing.
• Hardware experience with Dell PowerEdge servers and SAN storage.
• Project management and data analysis skills.

Personal Skills:

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree, or professional qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related fields.

Salary:

£35,000 - £40,000.
