Job summary

Adria Solutions Ltd. is seeking an IT Systems Manager to lead a small engineering-focused IT function in Oxford.

The role combines hands-on Linux server provisioning with strategic infrastructure leadership in a hybrid setting requiring three days in the office. You will oversee the design, deployment and optimisation of critical systems, ensuring reliable, scalable environments that support advanced hardware and labs.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience provisioning and deploying Linux servers.
• Knowledge of automation tooling (Ansible, Kickstart, Cobbler, Foreman, Packer).
• Strong networking experience: switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, ACLs, segmentation.
• Experience integrating hardware into IT environments.
• Ability to automate and standardise manual processes.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with IPMI/iDRAC/iLO and handover to DevOps/Kubernetes environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small specialist IT team and mentor members.
• Own infrastructure supporting complex engineering systems.
• Manage Linux server provisioning and OS configuration.
• Design and maintain secure lab and engineering networks.
• Configure switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and segmentation.
• Support hardware integration into production environments.
• Drive automation and documentation for repeatability.
• Produce playbooks and runbooks for operations.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, engineering and wider teams.
