IT Systems Engineer (Clearance Required)

Aquinas Consulting is seeking to fill a Systems Engineer job for our direct client, a leader in IT and defense solutions, in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will work with system integration, verification, and technical planning for total systems, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, and technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in Linux/Windows server administration, scripting, and system lifecycle management.

Due to the nature of this job, you must be a US citizen and you must hold an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities:

• Perform technical planning, system integration, and verification.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware/software specifications.
• Conduct functional analysis, trade studies, and timeline evaluations.
• Support system installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with DoD security and operational standards.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and configurations.

Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Linux Server Administration (RedHat, SLES) and Windows Server/Desktop experience.
• DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Linux shell scripting).
• Knowledge of networking and system security practices.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware ESXi, vSphere, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with version control, automation, and security tools (GIT, McAfee, Nexus, Ansible).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, IBM ELM).
• Ability to work third shift as required.
