Job description

IT Systems Administrator (3rd Line VMWare), Huddersfield

Following a successful period of growth, we are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our IT department. This role primarily focuses on managing Windows VMWare environments, with additional responsibilities including Linux server management and network troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Proactively maintaining and monitoring the IT infrastructure.
• Leading technical efforts for Windows VMWare environments.
• Managing REDHAT Linux servers.
• Designing and implementing new infrastructure provisions, including automation.
• Conducting design reviews and process improvements for performance and cost efficiency.
• Following change control procedures and documenting processes.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues escalated by the IT support team.
• Training and mentoring IT support staff.

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience with REDHAT Linux or similar UNIX/Linux systems.
• HPe infrastructure management (Servers, Blade, SAN).
• V Mware infrastructure administration.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, WAN, LAN, MPLS).
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.

This role is based at our head office in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, with a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
