IT Systems Administrator, £35K - £45K, Worcester, Worcestershire + hybrid working

Are you an experienced IT Administrator or Systems Engineer looking for a role where you'll support a wide range of technologies — from laptops and local networks to VMware and cloud infrastructure? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally connected software development company, where your work will support critical engineering and R&D applications used in mobility and test automation environments.

The business develops industry-leading automation and data management software, used by customers globally in automotive and scientific sectors. The core development team is UK-based but works closely with international colleagues in a flexible, agile environment.

Your background as an IT Administrator:

1. Experience with Windows and Linux server administration (on-prem and in-cloud).
2. Hands-on support of laptops and desktops (Windows OS).
3. Experience managing Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
4. Familiarity with VMware virtualisation platforms.
5. Strong networking knowledge - routing, VPNs, firewalls, switches.
6. Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
7. Awareness of cloud infrastructure (Azure or similar), Infrastructure-as-Code, or Kubernetes is a bonus.
8. Good problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.

IT Administrator responsibilities:

1. Provide desktop/laptop hardware and software support to internal users.
2. Maintain Windows and Linux servers across hybrid environments.
3. Support and manage virtual infrastructure using VMware.
4. Administer local area networks, firewalls, and connectivity.
5. Manage Microsoft 365 services and collaborate on user access control.
6. Provide input on cloud infrastructure projects and engineering tools.
7. Contribute to IT security and system resilience improvements.
8. Participate in occasional out-of-hours support or on-site tasks as needed.
