Job summary

A local educational organization is seeking an IT Support Technician. This part-time apprenticeship (30 hours per week) offers the National Apprenticeship Wage during the apprenticeship phase and potential transition to a permanent role. The ideal candidate will provide customer service to schools, support IT projects, and develop skills through the apprenticeship program. Closing date for applications is 12 noon on Sunday, 21st September 2025.

Overview

IT Support Technician – Whole Year, Part Time working 30 hours per week. Fixed Term initial for duration of Apprenticeship. On successful completion, transition to permanent role. Salary: National Apprenticeship Wage: £7.55 per hour during Apprenticeship phase. Upon completion of qualification, salary will be Grade 4: (SCP5-6) £25,583 to £25,989 per annum pro rata. Actual salary: £20,743 to £21,072 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to schools across the Trust via the helpdesk.
  • Provide on-site support for colleagues in the Central Team.
  • Support the build and deployment of devices and maintain the asset register.
  • Contribute to important Trust IT projects and participate in work shadowing with colleagues for practical experience.
  • Develop IT knowledge and skills through the Apprenticeship program and professional development reviews after completion.
  • Communicate effectively by telephone and in writing to respond to problems.

  • Willingness to engage in an Apprenticeship with opportunities for further knowledge after qualification.
