Job description

We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented 1st Line Support Technician to join our IT team. As a 1st Line Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems. If you have a passion for technology and enjoy helping others, this could be the job for you.

This is a part-time position, on three days per week, which can be discussed in the interview. The role could suit someone based either near our Head office in Teddington.

IT Technician: The Role

1. Head office-based role
2. Respond to help desk tickets and provide timely technical support to the sites
3. Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues
4. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications
5. Assist with user account management
6. Collaborate with other IT team members to troubleshoot complex problems
7. Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating technical solutions to non-technical users
8. Document all support activities and resolutions in the ticketing system
9. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates and backups
10. Assist with computer networking tasks, including troubleshooting connectivity issues
11. Analyze computer hardware problems and recommend appropriate solutions
12. Assist in EPOS (and related) system(s) configuration and maintenance

IT Technician: The Ideal Candidate

1. Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Chrome OS, etc.)
2. Knowledge of Google Workspace is an advantage
3. Basic understanding of computer networking concepts
4. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse issues and provide effective solutions
5. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
6. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
