We are recruiting IT Support Technicians to join our global manufacturing client based in Newport. Our client is a market-leading company within their field - reporting to the IT Manager and working as part of a small and friendly team. These roles are varied and will be heavily involved in setting up new IT equipment, as well as moving existing kit.

IT Support Technician duties will include:

  1. Setting up laptops, PCs, and printers - this will involve initial setup on desks and checking networks.
  2. Building and repairing laptops and resetting passwords.
  3. Installation of equipment and checking networks.
  4. Collecting various pieces of equipment and kit from the stores area.
  5. Following SOPs and other processes/procedures where appropriate.
  6. Managing end-user hardware including setup, repair, and troubleshooting.
  7. Providing basic support for printers and copiers.
  8. Assisting the team with providing 1st line support and raising tickets.
  9. Assisting with ensuring stock levels of IT equipment are maintained.

The successful candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills. This role will be based across two sites, so you must have a driving licence and your own vehicle. Your primary function will be assisting colleagues with the smooth transition of new and existing IT equipment and communicating updates to colleagues and team members at all times. You will ideally have some 1st line support experience or good knowledge of IT equipment - including setting up and checking networks. In addition, you must be comfortable communicating via telephone, email, and face-to-face, be proficient within Microsoft Office, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

These roles are to start as soon as possible and will be long-term contract positions; however, there is a possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate. In return, you will be joining a prestigious and renowned organisation and enjoy working in a modern and state-of-the-art business.

Benefits include:

  1. Salary is £12.82 per hour.
  2. Pension.
  3. 28 days holiday.
  4. On-site parking.
  5. Bonus scheme.
  6. Fantastic on-site canteen with fresh food.
  7. Modern and inclusive working environment.
