Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Support/Technician to join Amey's most successful and high-profile contracts, delivering secure IT services to a major UK Central Government department in Whitehall, London.

Working as part of a dedicated on-site team you will provide system administration and 1st/2nd line support for a complex physical network and Microsoft Windows environment.

We actively encourage innovation, so this role will include evaluating and integrating modern technology/equipment to improve our services.

Whilst a current security clearance is not a pre-requisite, you will be required to obtain and then retain DV clearance.

The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday.

You will be responsible for:

  • First point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email and IT support portal.
  • Responsible for handling support of service requests which relate to all technology including; workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software.
  • Administration and troubleshooting of CAFM system.
  • Continuous monitoring and improvement of IT service.
  • Participate and assist in driving knowledge management.
  • Active Directory Administration, new user setups (User Accounts, O365 Mailboxes).
  • Participate in the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects.
  • Basic Administration of Microsoft SharePoint.
We want to hear from you if you have:

Excellent customer service, PC hardware and Microsoft software trouble shooting experience.
  • Background in providing IT support.
  • Windows 10 Administration & Support.
  • Good understanding of LAN/WAN/TCP/IP infrastructure.
  • Basic understanding of IT security best practices.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications and technologies.
  • Working knowledge Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Entry Level understanding of PRTG and its uses.
  • Experience in Virtual Environments - Hyper-V / VMWare.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL best practices.
  • Remote desktop support.
