Job description

IT Support Field Technician

Location: Commutable to Gloucestershire
Salary: £27,000 - £28,500 depending on experience
Working Pattern: 5 days on-site, structured rotation across sites

Role Overview:
We're looking for a reliable and proactive IT Support Field Technician to provide on-site first-line IT support. This field-based role plays a key part in ensuring consistent and responsive IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the first point of contact for on-site IT support, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  2. Carry out routine IT health checks and maintain AV equipment, laptops, printers, and classroom technology.
  3. Support the device lifecycle process including installation, asset tracking, and warranty management.
  4. Liaise with Level 2 Support Analysts to escalate complex technical issues and contribute to user documentation and knowledge-sharing.

What We're Looking For:

  1. A passion for IT with a good understanding of Microsoft operating systems, Office 365, and basic networking.
  2. Strong customer service skills, problem-solving ability, and confidence working independently across multiple sites.
  3. A relevant IT qualification (or willingness to work towards one) and a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Knowledge of Microsoft server environments, ITIL frameworks, and enterprise IT solutions.
  2. Experience in an education environment and supporting cloud and safeguarding technologies.

Special Requirements:

  1. Must hold a full driving licence and have access to own transport to travel between sites.
