Job Title: IT Support Specialist
  • Reports To: Financial Director
  • Location: International Cheddar Head office

  • Hours: Full time/Part Time (25+ hours), Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm ideally

Purpose of role:

The IT Support Specialist will provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for computer systems, hardware, software, and networks to ensure smooth operations for internal and external users. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving issues, installing new hardware/software, training users, managing projects, and supporting the Netsuite development manager as needed.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and fixing technical issues, providing clear explanations and solutions, in collaboration with external providers.
  2. Hardware and Software: Install and configure new hardware and software applications as needed.
  3. End-User Support: Support users with IT problems both in person and remotely via phone or Teams, with support from FSC’s external IT support company.
  4. Training: Educate users on new and existing software/hardware (e.g., MS365, Power BI) and provide ongoing support.
  5. Documentation: Keep records of troubleshooting procedures, solutions, projects, and software protocols.
  6. Project Management: Manage IT projects to implement new or improved software systems to enhance productivity.
  7. Netsuite IT Manager backup: Provide backup support for the Netsuite IT Manager, especially in areas not covered by Cloud Tamers, and assist as required.
  8. Sustainability and IT Monitoring: Collaborate with sustainability staff to improve environmental performance through automation and process changes.
  9. Best Practices: Establish IT best practices for FSC Group.
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent to A Level or HND level education.
Preferred:
  • IT Graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Similar role experience or IT graduate/equivalent preferred.
  • Understanding of business processes is advantageous.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of hardware, software, and networks.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Effective diagnosis and resolution of technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
