IT Services are offering UWE students paid work experience with the IT Campus Support team as IT Support Assistants (x5).

The main responsibilities include:

  • Responding quickly to and resolving IT and Audio-visual issues in teaching spaces during live sessions.
  • Carrying out proactive maintenance on student printers.
  • Conducting IT/AV room checks in teaching spaces.

Experience with IT and audio-visual equipment is advantageous, but excellent customer service skills are essential as the role is customer-facing.

Full induction and training will be provided to successful candidates.

The roles are on-campus at Frenchay.

Contracts are term-time only for both semester 1 and semester 2, totaling 26 weeks (2 x 13-week blocks).

Working hours options include:

  • A morning shift from 07:00 to 10:00.
  • An early evening shift from 16:30 to 19:30.

Both shifts are three hours, Monday to Friday, totaling 15 hours per week. We may consider flexible hours to accommodate teaching schedules, and a rota system may be implemented for mixed shifts.

The pay rate is £12.60 per hour (C-grade spine point 10), with holidays pro-rata.
