Shore Medical is a GP Super Partnership with 6 practices across Poole and Bournemouth. We aspire to offer exceptional care to our 58,000 patients and are innovative in our approach to developing new teams and pathways to ever improve how general practice is delivered. We have a friendly and supportive team of more than 200 staff, with over 40 GP’s, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Nurses, Mental Health specialists and our range of administrative staff. We have a great social side to our team with Summer and Christmas parties, running and paddle boarding groups as well as many other events throughout the year.

• Lilliput Surgery
• Poole Road Medical Centre
• Wessex Road Surgery
• Heatherview Medical Centre
• Fernside Surgery
• Parkstone Tower Practice

The Opportunity

Shore Medical are seeking an IT Support Assistant, to be part of the Primary Health Care Team based at our Heatherview Medical Centre in Poole, Dorset on a permanent, part-time basis.

The purpose of this role is to offer general assistance to the 6 practices across the Shore Medical Group in all aspects of IT. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive IT support and assistance to staff at all levels of the organisation and will be expected to deliver IT support across all 6 surgeries on a regular ad hoc and rotational basis.

It is essential that you have a full driving licence due to travel across all sites.

Hours: 30 hours per week 8.00am-4.00pm (30 min unpaid lunch)

Working pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

Hourly Rate: £14.85 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• To regularly roam across 6 practices on a regular basis dependent on raised tickets and urgency of request
• Running S1 reporting to identify any tasks and path results requiring re-assignment
• Produce system expertise to resolve problems and enhance processes
• Assist in in running reports within the IT system as requested
• There will be some movement of IT equipment required across the 6 practices and therefore it is essential that the candidate has their own vehicle.
• Manage starters/leavers login/smartcards
• Ensure that new staff are set up with the necessary access for their specific role
• Support all staff with any SystmOne issues and if unresolved – escalate where appropriate
• Create and amend letter templates within SystmOne
• To be Shore Medical’s main point of contact for all IT aspects and to manage any reported issues by liaising with Trusted Technology and Focus (our telephone provider) as and when required
• Provide IT training for all new staff on current IT systems
• To trouble shoot and solve any IT/Network/Printer problems
• To assist in delivering exceptional service
• To assist in creating self-help documents for staff to resolve basic IT related issues– trouble shooting guides
• To maintain the computer systems in an accurate and secure manner
• To undertake any other duties within the scope of your role and within your skillset as requested

Experience

• Proven experience in a similar IT Support role- supporting team members with IT issues
• Competent in the use of a range of software ie Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• To be innovative, to work methodically with accuracy and to prioritise without supervision
• High levels of attention to detail
• To establish and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels and external organisations
• GCSE Grade A-C in English Language, Mathematics and Information Technology or equivalent
