Job description

Here at the Mick George Group we are currently recruiting an IT Support Technician/Apprentice to join the team.

Location: Head Office - 6 Lancaster Way, Ermine Business Park, Huntingdon, PE29 6XU

Hours: Monday - Friday Rota basis between 06:30am - 06:30pm

Pay: Dependent on experience, to be discussed at an interview.

Role Summary:

As an IT Support Apprentice at Mick George, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective IT support to our staff. You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in a range of IT systems and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

As an IT System Support Analyst your main roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email and in person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of computer systems, applications and peripherals.
  • Set up and configure user accounts, permissions and passwords.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.
Skills Required:

  • A strong interest in IT and a passion for problem-solving.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Desired but not mandatory).
  • Experience with troubleshooting basic networking issues (Desired but not mandatory).
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles (Desired but not mandatory).
