Position Summary

Samsung AI Cambridge is a newly-established, ambitious independent research centre targeting "Human-Centric AI" to enrich people's lives using AI technologies.

Purpose of the IT Support Analyst

SAIC urgently requires a 1st level IT Support Analyst to provide front-line technical support to a growing AI research lab.

Role and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for IT Support Analyst:
  • Setup and configure Windows laptops
  • Proxy troubleshooting and rule management (GUI)
  • Troubleshooting Windows, Outlook, etc.
  • Conduct induction sessions for new starters
  • Asset management via Service Desk Portal
  • Use IT Helpdesk platform to log or respond to incidents/requests
  • Account creation and management
  • Manage Samsung Security Tools (NASCA, ESCORT)
  • Write How-To articles for FAQs on Confluence
  • Provide one-to-one assistance as needed
  • Proactively investigate incidents on affected systems
  • Investigate root causes of incidents and update users
  • Coordinate with the IT Engineer for testing system changes
  • Ensure IT stock availability to support Centre requirements
Skills and Qualifications
Skills and experience required:

Essential:

  • Windows OS / Linux OS
  • Symantec Antivirus
  • PC installation and setup
  • Troubleshooting Windows and Linux in a corporate environment
  • Active Directory (Basic)
  • TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • Firewall understanding
  • Proxy understanding

Desirable:

  • Linux sysadmin
  • Bash scripting
  • ITIL principles
  • Background in Computer Science
  • Experience or interest in Machine Learning environments

Contract Type: 6-month contract via agency (inside IR35)

Part-time: 17.50 hours per week
