Job title: IT Services Engineer

Base location: Leighton Park School (Shinfield Rd, Berkshire, Reading RG2 7DE)

Full-time on-site

Hours per week: Monday to Friday either 08:00 to 16:30pm or 09:00-5:30pm (to be agreed upon appointment)

Annual leave: 30 days Plus Bank Holiday

Annual salary: £25-£27k, dependant on experience

Reporting lines: IT Manager

Role Profile

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing education-focused IT Managed Service Provider (MSP).

This role is based full-time at Leighton Park School, an outstanding co-educational private school for both day and boarding pupils (boys and girls) in Reading.


Day-To-Day Responsibilities

As part of the inTEC managed services team, you will be working at the school to deliver first-class IT support services to staff and pupils.

You will undertake a broad range of IT support tasks, primarily end-user support, but to include systems maintenance of servers, network and Wi-Fi, and cloud-hosted systems.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications
  • Good knowledge of desktop operating systems (e.g. Windows, Mac OSX)
  • Microsoft systems administration experience (Windows Server, 365, Azure)
  • Google G Suite for Education experience
  • Apple product experience (including hardware, macOS and iOS)
  • Basic Networking skills (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, switching, wireless)

Desirable
  • Relevant IT certifications
  • Educational MIS systems experience (SIMS, Schoolbase, iSAMS etc)
  • Mobile Device Management (Apple JAMF, Chromebook GSuite)
  • Experience of supporting services in the cloud (e.g. SaaS)
  • Previous experience working in a school
  • Web & E-mail Security in regards to child safeguarding
