Role Overview

The IT Service Transition Lead plays a key role in the successful delivery of IT projects into our business, ensuring they are carried out in a safe and robust manner. The role involves joining a team of professionals to provide assurance by managing Operational Readiness for various IT project implementations. Given our large portfolio of projects delivered through the SIAM model, this position is critical to achieving project success and supporting the growth of the Leonardo business.

Responsibilities
  1. Work with the project manager to initiate new project activities and define key operational deliverables.
  2. Ensure that operational deliverables develop in line with project maturity through checkpoints.
  3. Assess operational readiness of new project implementations before transition into Service Operations to ensure standards are met.
  4. Understand, anticipate, and influence customer demand for IT services.
  5. Manage the release process for new IT Operations capabilities into live environment.
  6. Minimize risks and impacts to business services during changes in the IT estate.
  7. Communicate IT operational needs effectively across teams.
  8. Align with corporate IT development directions.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Deep understanding of the service transition lifecycle, processes, and best practices, especially within the ITIL framework.
  • Proven experience leading IT service transition activities in physical and cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
