Role Overview
- As the Change, Release & Service Transition Manager, you will lead the change and release processes across Elexon’s IT environment and ensure smooth service transitions into production. You'll work within an ITIL-based framework, coordinating across teams and vendors to maintain high-quality, controlled, and risk-assessed change management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Change Management, Release Management, and Service Transition processes.
- Lead CAB meetings, oversee change reviews, approvals, and implement robust back-out plans.
- Maintain release calendars and coordinate with dev/test/ops teams for timely delivery.
- Ensure operational readiness before service go-live and enforce service acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure smooth transitions.
- Deliver regular reports covering success rates, trends, and improvement areas.
- Promote continuous improvement, governance, and compliance with ITIL best practices.
Stakeholders You'll Work With
- Internal: Senior Leadership Team, Technology Leads, Product/Service Owners, IT Service Desk
- External: Supplier Partners, 3rd Party Vendors
Key Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in ITIL-based Service Management (Change, Release & Transition)
- Proven experience managing complex IT changes and large-scale releases
- Familiarity with IBM tools, ServiceNow, or equivalent ITSM platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset for risk assessment and problem-solving
- Understanding of the UK electricity market and Ofgem regulations
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in IT operations
- Background in project management or multi-vendor service delivery environments
