Job description

IT Service Desk Technician Bristol Area up to £23,000

Seeking a motivated Service Desk Technician with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join a leading IT specialist company in the South West of the UK. Be part of a skilled team in various technologies, ensuring smooth computer operations for end users. Respond promptly to help requests, utilize diagnostic tools, and provide hands-on assistance. Strong customer-facing skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose service issues encompassing internet connectivity, backups, and telephony.
2. Address connectivity problems across diverse technologies (broadband, ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, etc.).
3. Conduct preventive maintenance, including checking and cleaning servers, desktops, laptops, and devices at both software and hardware levels.
4. Offer recommendations for continual service improvement and analyse trends to prevent recurring issues.
5. Alert management to emerging incident trends and deploy pre-packaged software through automated deployment.

Skills required:

1. Understanding of computer hardware, encompassing desktops, laptops, servers, NAS, network equipment, routers, and telephony.
2. Expertise in desktop and server operating systems, encompassing Microsoft's current OS stack.
3. Background in an ITIL-driven environment, with a working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes being advantageous.
