Overview

We are on the lookout for an IT Security Manager to join our public sector client to assist with the reviewing, analysis and risk assessment of new and existing IT Systems, in addition to responding to queries raised to the IT Security and Governance team in relation to IT systems and services. While you need to have a good understanding of IT Systems, Cloud and Security Technology, including firewalls, you won't be in a solely hands-on technical role, nor in a pure governance and risk role, more a bridge between the two. The core of the role will be technical assessment, incident management and reporting.

About you

• IT Degree
• Experience of developing, implementing and managing policies/procedures to ensure services certified to ISO 27001 standards.
• Experience of IT Security risk assessment with a firm understanding of risk assessment principles.
• Friendly and positive morale with strong customer service skills.
• Flexible to take on a variety of work, adaptable.

What you'll do as an IT Security Manager

• Support ICT Security and Governance in related projects/initiatives, producing various pieces of work as required e.g. guidance, processes, training.
• Support the day-to-day management of requests for information in relation to ICT Security and Governance.
• Assist the Security and Governance Team Leader to provide advice and practical assistance on ICT security risks and appropriate risk mitigation and implementation of control measures.
• Respond to routine enquiries from staff regarding access to information, policies and procedures.
• Undertake initial fact finding/risk assessments of ICT Security and Governance related incidents and enquiries on behalf of the ICT Security and Governance Team Leader/ICT Security, Governance and Business Manager.
