Job summary

Leeds Building Society is seeking an II Security Engineer specialising in AI to protect members and services while enabling safe adoption of emerging AI technologies.

You will assess AI-related risk, shape practical security controls and review AI-enabled solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Cloud SaaS/PaaS security engineering role in regulated sector.
• Hands-on assessment of AI/LLM security, privacy and risk in change environments.
• Knowledge of NIST AI RMF, OWASP Top 10 for LLM, MITRE ATLAS, ISO 42001.
• Ability to balance innovation with regulatory and operational resilience.
• Clear communication to non-technical audiences; collaborative cross-team work.
• Recognised IT or information security qualifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, etc).
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry.

Job description

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in a Cloud SaaS/PaaS security engineering role, ideally in financial services or another regulated sector.


• Hands-on experience assessing the security, privacy and operational risks of generative AI, LLMs and AI-enabled solutions in a change environment.


• Knowledge of emerging AI security frameworks and standards, including NIST AI RMF, the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS and ISO 42001.


• The judgement to balance innovation with security, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.


• Clear communication skills and confidence explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences of all levels.


• A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and coordinate expertise when needed.


• Recognised IT or information security qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, Microsoft AI-500, SANS, TAISE, CCSP or CCSK.


• Experience across some of the following Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry environments is valued.
