Job summary

Darlington College is seeking an ambitious IT Security Engineer to join our Digital Services team in Darlington. You will protect information assets, manage Microsoft 365 security, and support compliance with data protection policies.

You will work across a diverse tech stack, including Defender, Entra ID, Purview, DLP, eDiscovery, and retention policies, contributing to security projects and staff training.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft 365 security administration and Defender in a commercial setting.
• Experience with Purview compliance solutions, including DLP and eDiscovery.
• Proven ability to investigate incidents and manage vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to cyber security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks.
• Manage and enhance Microsoft 365 security technologies (Defender, Entra ID, CA, Intune).
• Support Purview compliance solutions including DLP, Information Protection, eDiscovery, retention policies.
• Assist with penetration testing, vulnerability management, and remediation programmes.
• Help raise security awareness and ensure staff compliance.
