We have an exciting opportunity for proactive candidates with an interest in IT risks and controls to join our diverse team. The role is suitable for a Computer Science/Information Management graduate or a Junior Security Controls Tester looking to develop their IT risk and controls knowledge across various IT platforms and environments—an excellent entry into a career in IT Security assurance.

As an IT Controls Tester, you will play a critical role in testing the effectiveness of Aviva’s IT general and security controls in collaboration with our external auditors and Assurance teams.

A bit about the job:

As an adaptable IT Controls Tester, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of controls testing activities as required, supporting the delivery by colleagues within the team
• Reporting on the status of controls testing and issues arising from this testing to colleagues at all levels
• Identifying potential risks and issues and collaborating with Operational and Risk colleagues to formally raise these
• Managing your workload and personal development plans independently and effectively
• Providing support, guidance, and mentoring to junior peers and new recruits on technical testing aspects, actively engaging in the team's work

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• A good knowledge of IT systems, security, and/or daily IT operations
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills, with a dedication to personal development and learning
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work as part of a distributed team to deliver results
• Desirable: A degree in a technology-related subject and/or relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CISA, SSCP, CISSP)
• Desirable: Specialization in Windows Technologies, Unix, Linux, Oracle, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure), Cryptography, or System Architecture
