Job Description:
IT Risk and Governance Analyst – Bournemouth – 3 month contract
We are seeking an analytical mind, with an eye for detail, procedures and technical acumen, to help the business implement and run a new IT risk management framework. This is a role supporting a Technology Transformation Programme and maintaining oversight over current operational technology and applications.
- Assist the implementation of risk identification control strategies, including creating learning materials, templates, and facilitating workshops.
- Support horizon scanning exercises to identify new and emerging risks, working with Legal and Compliance teams on regulatory changes.
- Manage changes to risk taxonomy and reference library to support technology risk assessment.
Risk and Event Analysis
- Review and analyze internal and external technology issues and risk events, updating a knowledge base for organizational learning.
- Assist in risk control assessments, control testing, and deep dives into technology issues and risks.
- Support vendor risk assessments, controls assurance, and compliance attestations with third-party risk & assurance specialists.
Risk Controls and Management
- Assist in developing the technology governance framework and controls library, supporting policy and standard development.
- Manage the IT controls library, review change requests, and analyze control performance.
- Support GRC platform operations, including maintaining runbooks and improving service processes.
Risk Governance and Compliance
- Manage the service interface for Technology Service Governance, including FAQs, demand management, and metrics analysis.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of governance decisions and manage exceptions and risk acceptances.
- Support audits, certifications, and resolution of audit findings.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare reports on technology risk and governance performance.
- Maintain documentation for governance procedures, project updates, and audits.
- Develop visualizations to enhance communication of technology risks.
- Promote learning and awareness campaigns throughout the business.
- Research new technology risk tools and models to improve services and knowledge.
- Support the development of team members in the Technology Services Governance team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with enterprise technology services, support, or administration, including ITIL and asset management.
- Understanding of enterprise IT environments, including cloud, cybersecurity, and applications.
- Experience deploying and operating IT controls and procedures.
- Knowledge of IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis and report creation using PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Ability to automate tasks using PowerAutomate, Python, or similar scripting languages.
